1979, MIDWESTERN MFG CO.
Plastic visors featuring a big KISS logo on the front with four lights powered by a 9-volt battery. While yellow is the most common (and is the one featured in a 1979 JC Penney catalogue) both red, black, dark blue and white have also been spotted. Some appear with and without the little ‘®’ symbol next to the logo, suggesting the company made some earlier prototypes before fixing the missing symbol. Sometimes mistakenly referred to as ‘Disco Visors’ because of the title of the other one in the ad, its title is simply ‘KISS Visor’. Superman and ABBA were among other visors made around the same time.
